Some dogs arrive at a shelter carrying fear. Others arrive carrying hope.

And then there’s Cindy… who carries nothing but love in her heart.

This beautiful senior lady finds herself waiting for a second chance she never expected to need. It all starts with those soft brown eyes and that slightly grey muzzle that gently gives away her age, the kind of face that tells a story of loyalty, comfort, and years spent loving a family.

Cindy arrived in excellent condition, clearly once someone’s cherished companion. We suspect a recent thunderstorm startled her, sending her running in panic and leading her away from the safety she once knew. Since then, she’s been patiently waiting behind our shelter gates, a little confused… but still full of warmth.

This large breed sweetheart is the ultimate people pleaser. She absolutely adores human company and will quietly push her snout through the fence just to ask for a scratch or a moment of connection. Every visit from a volunteer is the highlight of her day.

Cindy is happy in the company of smaller dogs and calm canine friends, and despite everything, she still has a wonderfully goofy side that shines through when she feels safe. It’s impossible not to smile when she does.

Senior dogs like Cindy have a special kind of magic they love deeply, settle beautifully into homes, and ask for nothing more than comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest.

She has known the love of a good family before. We believe with all our hearts she can know it again and wants to!
